Nelson's climate helps create some beautiful and inspiring gardens, including native New Zealand flora as well as themed gardens such as traditional English gardens. With many of these gardens open to the public and for weddings, they provide serene and beautiful landscapes in which to get married. Nelson also boasts over 25 Boutique Vineyards producing award winning wines and locations adorned with grape vines. Many of the vineyards provide facilities for weddings and have their own restaurants which feature their locally produced wines. If you're looking for the vineyard wedding experience and a place to celebrate afterwards, Nelson is spoiled for options. There are over 350 local restaurants within the Nelson area which serve meals created with local produce. From locally caught fish to organic vegetables, there is plenty to tempt the taste buds. If adventure is what you are after, you will find many activities in Nelson including sea kayaking, seal swimming, sailing, horse trekking, white water rafting, sky diving, rock climbing, mountain biking and for the great adventurer Aerial Acrobatics. If you are into arts and crafts, Nelson is renowned for its artisans, especially in pottery, glass making, jewellery. It hosts annual food and wine festivals throughout the region and is the home of the WOW (World of Wearable Arts) fashion show. Not only is Nelson a great location to get married, it is an idyllic honeymoon location and a unique place to spend a holiday.
