We all want to look gorgeous, sexy and stylish on our wedding day!  The only problem is it is not like any other event. You will have these photos forever. So to achieve this you need to strike a balance between sexy and stylish.

There are two parts to getting ready for your big day. Preparation and the actual application of the make-up. So I will write two articles. This one on tips for preparing yourself, and then tips on achieving amazing makeup yourself or what to tell your makeup artist you want.

You can make an amazing difference to your overall look on your wedding day by preparing your skin and body. I see a lot of women with bumpy dry skin and bad fake tan and your makeup will only look as good as the skin underneath.

Make sure to get into a good routine to do with skin and body care at least one month before hand. The longer beforehand the better. The results will be amazing if you stick to these rules religiously:

-start the day with water with lemon juice (this clears the skin and eyes and cleanses your liver)

-drink a fresh vegetable and fruit juice everyday (this will work wonders for glowing skin and eyes.

-add flax seed oil to your morning cereal for strong nails and hair and moisturized skin from the inside out.

-drink at least one litre of water a day. More if you can.

-eat as much food fresh or unprocessed as possible and at least 3 servings of vegetables and two of fruit per day

-dry body brush your entire body before you hop in the shower once a day.

-cleanse your skin for at least 2 minutes morning and night and massage skin as you go. Leave cleanser on for 5 minute. This works like a mask!

-exfoliate your skin twice a week.

-Moisturise!!!

-Practice applying your own fake tan. This gives the best results if you are careful. Exfoliate, moisturize, apply and spend a good ten minutes rubbing in. This way you know how much to apply and not go overboard. I have seen a lot of orange brides or very brown ankles. Everyone suits a little colour, but only go a couple of shades darker. You want to look healthy, not like you have miraculously just got back from 2 months in Hawaii when they saw you 2 days ago!
