If you're in charge of planning the stag do then you might already have some ideas of what you want to do, and where you want to go. If not, here's what you need to remember. 1. You'll need to confirm with the groom who he wants on his stag night with him. There might be people that must, or must not, be invited, so you'll need to get the guest list sorted first. 2. You'll need to then establish when the stag night will be held. There might be only one weekend when all the guests are available, or you might all need to change your plans to fit round the groom. 3. Once you know who's going, and when it will be, you can then think about where the groom wants to go. He might have particular requests, or might be open to any suggestions. Why not think about going to a different town or city for a change? 4. If you are going to a different town or city, you'll want to arrange your accommodation well in advance, so that you don't have to worry about getting home. You might want to choose a budget hotel in the city centre, or choose a more luxurious boutique hotel out of town. 5. Don't forget to organise your transport too. You don't want to have to have to try and get taxis at the end of the evening in a strange town. By ordering your taxis or minibus in advance you also don't have to worry about having a designated driver or two. 6. When you know where and when you're going, you can think about arranging some activities for during the day. You might want to go and drive racing cars or tanks, play a round of golf, or go paintballing, or maybe you'll find something less strenuous to do. Don't forget that you should choose something the groom will like, rather than something you want to do. 7. You'll then need to arrange something for the evening. This is once in a lifetime, and so it's a special night, and needs to be more that just your normal night out. Why not organise a party in the groom's honour and really go to town? 8. Don't forget to order food otherwise you'll get very hungry and start flagging. You might want a formal meal, a sit down buffet, or a stand up finger buffet. Why not choose the sort of meal and food the you know the groom likes, and see if you can get the guests to mix more, especially if they don't really know each other. 9. Why not ensure that the music at your stag party is really what you want? You might be able to provide your own songs for the evening, or have the venue choose a selection for you. 10. It's essential to remember that it's not your night, and the groom should have the final say in matters. After all, it's his night! Now you know what you need to remember and organise, it should be easy to plan the perfect stag do. |
