A little about me: A happily married, accomplished and experienced professional, a friendly, relaxed, mature woman. Weddings are an exciting and happy event and I'd love to be a part of yours. Whatever your dream ceremony is I can craft it for you, and offer a range of ways to do so - elopement, short and sweet, or long and lush! I value love and relationship and respect your celebration. I'm there for you, for your big day, celebrating your love story, your culture, your hopes and your dreams. My focus is on doing quality work and making my part of the day deeply beautiful. As a skilful Celebrant I'm here to support you, in having the ceremony that you want to have. I am a:
As well as a friendly personality, multiple payment options and a first-class service, I bring a unique package of desirable skills to my work. My background as an academic means I will write and craft your ceremony swiftly and thoroughly, speak confidently, articulately and on topic. Love, Birth, Death - these experiences affect us as human beings, and my community counselling experience helps me to create an oasis of calm.
An artist's daughter, I've also had the good fortune to grow up around creativity and creative people and value innovation. I'd be delighted to make your ceremony as unique and personal to you as you wish. While I live in urban Auckland, I cherish nature. If you want to marry on the clifftops of Waiheke Island or walk over the hill from Whangapoua to New Chums at low tide, just ask! With family in Coromandel, I am there regularly. I am also well grounded in the creation and delivery of Interfaith ceremonies, having trained and registered to perform marriages in New York as well as NZ. Delighted to organise witnesses for you and marry you in my home (or anywhere) if you are eloping.
Namings: Welcoming your new baby, celebrating their name and place amongst your family and friends. A naming ceremony supports you as parents also, to mark this transition and share with your loved ones what you hold most important, as the guardian of this dear new life.
Weddings & Civil Unions: Most of my Celebrant work involves facilitating weddings and civil unions, and I delight in doing so. It is a joy and a privilege to stand with you and celebrate your commitment and happiness. I have performed ceremonies on cliff-tops, mountains, beaches, islands, boats, urban roof gardens, in historic homes, exclusive lodges, golf resorts, clubs, marae, private residences, parks, hospitals, rest homes, chapels, hotels, restaurants, vineyards, orchards, zoos, museums, art galleries and an Air NZ plane! Anywhere, any time you want to celebrate your relationship works for me.
Funerals & Memorials: With a background in youth work and the experience of losing my own son pre-birth, I am often asked to officiate at funerals for babies, children and young people, as well as people throughout their life stages. It is an honour to remember a life, of any length.
My approach: I enjoy working in relationships of mutual respect with my clients and want everyone involved to feel good about the process and the ceremony itself. I believe in what I do and am expert at it. Ethical and excellent practice underpins all my work, as does the value of relationship. In all aspects of ceremony development and delivery I will work with you to ensure that together we create a beautiful piece of history in your journey as a couple. Am happy to provide complete media blackout and confidentiality agreement as required. My peaceful villa is located near the Greenlane motorway offramp and train station, making it easy for clients who wish to come meet me at my home office, by car or train. And easy for me to travel and marry you anywhere in beautiful Aotearoa.
Celebrant fees & payment options: To support both my clients and the planet I offer Traditional or Sustainable payment options. You choose how you wish to pay for my celebrant work; via bank transfer or sustainably with skills/service of the same value. Best value for weddings in nearby Cornwall Park and One Tree Hill. In brief I will:
