Wouldn’t you like to take all the stress out of planning and co-ordinating the endless tasks associated with your wedding day? It is rewarding to be able to plan, create and put together the details of your day, but for some, being able to relax and have someone else put it all together for you sounds like a great idea. Many resorts and hotels offer weddings packages as part of their service. This usually involves working with their in-house wedding co-ordinator to detail what you are looking for and pouring over the options offered by the venue. Many will have their own celebrants, photographers, caterers etc. that you can use and which have been selected for their professionalism and reliability. This can be particularly helpful if you are getting married overseas where you don’t know local businesses, and where bringing your own photographer or wedding professionals can be costly. Usually you will be presented with package options with varying degrees of extras and cost. When you are looking at a wedding package, make sure you go over the details to make sure nothing is left out. If you have special needs or requests, ask if they can be met and if you plan to bring your own photographer, celebrant or wedding professional, check first that this is permitted. Because packages can be restricted in what is and isn’t included, it is always best to discuss these details before making a commitment. The benefits of buying a wedding package is that someone else is looking after all the details for you such as setting up the venue and co-ordinating the catering, leaving you to put up your feet, enjoy your family and friends and relax. Prices for packages can work out cheaper in the long run as everything is in one place and some resorts will offer special deals such as if you book a certain number of rooms their wedding services are free. The downside to wedding packages is that you are constricted to having your wedding at the venue, staying in their accommodation and using their preferred vendors. This may work out to be really great, but just to be sure I would recommend checking online or reading reviews about other people’s experience with the venue or package before committing to it. Many packages you see are for hotels and resorts in Australia or on South Pacific Islands. While these are beautiful locations to get married, you don’t have to go overseas to enjoy a wedding package – there are a number of hotels and resorts in beautiful locations in New Zealand that will also offer the same services. NZ Wedding and Honeymoon Directory has a great selection of New Zealand and Overseas wedding package and honeymoon providers. You can view some of them on the right or search for a provider at one of your favourite destinations using the search bar at the top. |
