It is not uncommon for people in churches to undergo some form of 'pre-marriage counselling' to help them prepare for what marriage will mean and to help ensure they themselves are ready as a couple. It has helped many couples talk about their expectations of marriage and helped them pre-empt some of the challenges they may face.
Outside of the church, it doesn't seem that this kind of service is available or wanted, or perhaps people don't know its an option. Should it be more readily available? Would you even consider this if it was available?
