Chris and Lisa's Abel Tasman National Park Beach Wedding

Chris and Lisa decided they wanted a no fuss wedding in New Zealand in what would be their dream wedding holiday.  They wanted to get married on a beach and looked at both the Coromandel in the North Island and the Abel Tasman National Park, near Nelson, in the South Island.

As they lived in England, much of their decision was going to be influenced by finding the right person or company that they could trust would provide them with their dream wedding experience.  In the end, the thorough and quick communications with New Zealand Wedding Packages swayed them to take the journey to Nelson to be married on the stunning golden beaches of the Abel Tasman National Park.

They arrived the day before the wedding and settled into their accommodation before deciding to explore the area and go for a walk to Split Apple Rock.  This turned out to be a small disaster as Chris, on his way down the steps to the beach, badly sprained his angle.  Their first night in Nelson was spent at the hospital rather than on the beach watching the sunset!

Fortunately, the doctors and nurses patched Chris up to ensure he could still venture out on the boat to their wedding destination!  His pants were wide enough to cover his big boot and his steps were steady enough to forego the crutches.

Chris and Lisa boarded the water Taxi on a beautiful warm summer’s day with bright blue skies and made the trip to Adele Island spit, a natural sand spit that appears close to low tide.  The golden sand, the blue green water and the fact there was no-one else there, made this the perfect wedding location!  As Lisa later recorded “As we made our way over to Adele Island, the scenery was awe-inspiring.  We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to be getting married in such an incredibly stunning location.”

Chris and Lisa had their wedding ceremony on the sand spit, followed by celebration bubbles and photos.  The photos were taken by New Zealand Wedding Packages’ Virginia Woolf, the celebrant was Ron Schepers and they were also accompanied by videographer Fraser Heal.

When finished, everyone hopped back on board the Sea Shuttle and made their way back to Little Kaiteriteri beach where their New Zealand Wedding Packages Wedding Planner, Kimberly Coldren, prepared a romantic dinner on the beach.  After cutting their cake, Chris and Lisa spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach being waited on with beautiful local food and wine.

Chris and Lisa carry back with them some amazing memories.  Of their experience they said “We would have no hesitation at all in recommending New Zealand Wedding Packages.  There is nothing we would change about the whole experience.  The service we received from the start was first class and we are very grateful in how special they made us feel on our perfect day.”
