Bedarra's beauty is the natural understatement of tropical splendour. The singular silence of the rainforest where a thick carpet of fallen leaves passes softly underfoot in muted tones of filtered sunlight. The majestic presence of huge tumbled granite boulders rising from a sapphire sea. The gentle lapping of clear blue water on sunlit sand as you discover a hidden cove where time stands still. With its sweeping beaches of pure golden sand bounded by long-established gardens, Bedarra Hideaway offers a unique combination of natural delights. Each fully appointed Villa reflects the beauty of its surroundings, a split level design with a hint of Eastern mystery provides cool privacy with lush foliage framing a view of the sapphire sea.

Resort Complex Accommodation:
Bedarra Island is home to two exclusive Resorts, Bedarra Bay and Bedarra Hideaway. Each offers a standard of facilities and service that reflects an uncompromising attitude towards the total enjoyment of only 32 guests accommodated in 16 luxurious Villas. Each spacious villa is nestled among the native flora and designed to harmonise with its surroundings, while reflecting the different character of each Resort. In the words of their designer, they "grow out of their environment, and will always be part of it." Crafted from local timbers, it features separate living area with private balcony and magnificent ocean views. Both Bedarra Bay and Bedarra Hideaway Villas feature an indulgence that becomes immediately apparent when you enter your Villa to discover: soft, fluffy bathrobes and exclusive toiletries in your fully appointed bathroom; the natural beauty of polished Australian timbers in an interior designed for relaxed living, a refrigerator waiting for your selections from the bar; a choice of air-conditioning or traditional ceiling fans; a Queen size bed to ensure a good night's sleep; and an ISD telephone that can always stay off the hook. Dining:
Every meal on Bedarra Island offers an unparalleled variety of culinary delights from the skilled hands of the Resorts' Cordon Bleu Chefs. An exotic chilled soup, a tantalising terrine, succulent local seafood and fresh tropical fruits, or perhaps your favourite steak. Bedarra's Cordon Bleu cuisine and food-as-art philosophy mean that even a lingering lunch calls for some decisions, but we promise you they will only be pleasant ones. If you feel like a picnic, your Chef will be happy to pack you a superb hamper. And because Bedarra is a privately owned island, you can be sure your peace and privacy will not be disturbed. All meals are, of course, accompanied by your selection of beverages from the comprehensively stocked bar; local and imported beers and ales, fine red and white vintage wines and Champagnes, in addition to spirits, liqueurs and soft drinks to please every palate. All, of course, included in your holiday tariff.

Activities & daytrips:
When you're not relaxing in the cool privacy of your own Villa, Bedarra is yours to discover at your own pace; strolling through the Island's unique tropical rainforest, lazing in the spa beside the pool, sunbathing on a secluded beach, sailboarding or catamaran sailing, snorkelling, or fishing from a dinghy, or playing tennis under lights on a court surrounded by living rainforest. On Bedarra Island a chance to visit one of the natural wonders of the world is an everyday occurrence. The Great Barrier Reef lies a short boat trip to the east, there an unforgettable experience awaits you. You may choose to see the unique splendour of the living Reef by snorkelling, or viewing from a glass bottomed boat or the submersible. For an additional charter fee, you can enjoy game fishing, or dive, snorkel, or cruise the magnificent Great Barrier Reef. Your hosts will be happy to organise your Reef Cruise. RESORT FACILITIES. How to get there:
Bedarra Island is accessed via regular flights from major capital cities to either Townsville or Cairns Domestic Airports, followed by a scenic flight to Dunk Island and a short launch trip. Overseas flights arrive direct into Cairns International Airport, with transfers to the Domestic Terminal. Passengers on connecting flights to Dunk and Bedarra Islands may be limited to one suitcase and one small carry-on item of hand luggage each (subject to loading) Locker storage is available at both Townsville and Cairns Airports: Check-in 3.00 pm, Check-out 11.00am.

Special Features:
For those who value privacy – you have to share the entire island resort with only 15 other couples. No children under 15 years of age. Superb accommodation, all meals prepared by a Cordon Bleu Chef. All wines and alcoholic beverages, boat transfers to and from Dunk Island and all the resort facilities are included in the tarif.
